D.C., Monticello & Charlottesville

I have been wanting to see Monticello for years!!! This is Thomas Jeffersons home which he was the architect for, and actually started the Jeffersonian Era of building. It really was just as amazing as I thought it would be. I went with Melissa Wade and Kate Nadeua.
T.J. and us
The backyard/side garden-vineyard, so pretty.

View of the back of the house, the front is pretty much the same.
Mitche's Taver for lunch, you eat what they would have eatin in 1800. Very cool ambiance.

Washington D.C.- The Capitol Building

Washingtons Memorial, sorry I forgot to flip this
The White House

This is the famous Half-Smoke Chili dawg that all D.C.er's get...despite the looks this was really good!

Georgetown Cupcakes, as seen on TLC.
I indulged in a red velvet, cookies-n-creme, and traditional vanilla-chocolate

D.C. Temple, it is hidden actually and then you pop out of the woods and there is the amazing temple

The summer continues...
I got Melissa Wade to go with me on an eating frenzy through D.C.
All summer I had been watching the Food Network Channel and Travel Channel, making notes on places to eat. So when I got the chance I took it at full speed! What a good way to sight-see cause you don't get grumpy cause your tired or hungry, cause you have been sitting down all day eating :)

Norfolk, Mt Vernon & Frederiksburg

Virginia IS for lovers...(and slow drivers who can't merge).

Baby girl and I really hit the sites this summer, we saw just about everything from the Capitol to Wal-Mart! Cory was making the money while I toured the towns, not a bad deal if you ask me.

Well it all started in Norfolk, Virginia...
fine dining...not really. the local food was not a huge hit for meKate and I at the beach

And the first lighthouse constructed on the American Continent
Now we move onto Mt. Vernon, Home of George Washington...

What an amazing business man and great American leader, it was refreshing to go back and review one of the founding fathers of American.
And here is George and I
Here we have Fredericksburg...

This was a French festival, and that is a 5,000 egg omelet, it was actually good too.

This was only the first half of summer, I will do some other posts so it doesn't get to confusing.
